How do I set up a free gift?
In the app, click Create rule. Give it a name, enter the cart subtotal that unlocks the gift, choose the gift product variant, and save. Gratis creates an automatic discount for the gift. Then open your theme editor, go to App embeds, and turn on "Gratis free gift".
The gift isn't being added.
Check that the app embed is on in the theme editor (Theme settings › App embeds), the rule is Active, and the gift product is published to your Online Store with stock available. On the Free plan, gifts pause after 50 gifts in a calendar month.
How do I show the progress bar?
In the theme editor, add the "Free gift progress" app block to your cart page or cart drawer section. You can change the wording and colours in the block settings.
A shopper removed the gift. Why doesn't it come back?
If a shopper removes the gift on purpose, Gratis doesn't add it again during that browser session. It comes back in a new session if the cart still qualifies.
What do the tiers do?
Each tier is a higher subtotal with its own gift. When the cart reaches a higher tier, the lower gift is replaced by the higher one. The Free plan has one tier per rule; Pro has three.
Does it work with discount codes and other automatic discounts?
Yes. The gift discount is set to combine with product, order and shipping discounts.
Can I trigger a Shopify Flow workflow?
Yes. Use the "Gift threshold reached" trigger in Flow. It carries the rule name, the gift and the tier threshold.
Which themes are supported?
The app embed works with any theme. The progress bar app block needs an Online Store 2.0 theme. Cart sections are refreshed automatically after a gift is added or removed.
